It’s been far too long since I’ve blogged here. And I’m not going to make any excuses. I simply haven’t prioritized blogging amidst the competing priorities of life we all face.
Monday morning, as I put on a new pair of running shoes, I thought to myself, “How can I change things up and step out my comfort zone?”
Today I’m going to make a change. Starting with a commitment to blog at least once a week. The best experiences I’ve had in life so far have been after I’ve stepped way, way out of the zone so I’m optimistic the same will hold true once again.
Back to the new shoes. Running shoes are the perfect analogy for our attachments and the status quo in life.
We initially try them on to determine a good fit, choose an option, get hooked, then rely on them as our foundation for many experiences, near and far. We get comfortable. It becomes hard to make a change.
New shoes are the perfect change agent and symbol to start a new chapter – not only in running but also in life. Planning and consistent follow-through with your new routine will ultimately lead to success.
So put on those new shoes. Plan, listen, learn, and repeat. It’s time to step out of your comfort zone. Commit to doing something new. Today. I am.
